Silent night, holy night. by ArtKatSurrey S

Silent night, holy night.

I like it, the icy, glassy texture of the mountains and the frosty stars.

Thanks Carole. You may be interested to know that I did it impasto using an old credit card throughout except for the stars - which were done with something pointed (can't remember what). It has proved to be popular as a Christmas card, but I really did it bcause I love the carol, especially in the original German. Thanks again for your comment.

Lovely Christmas card...like the design and colours!

Thanks Shirley it has been a popular card.

Hello Kat, thank you very much for visiting my gallery and for leaving your very kind comments. I'm glad to have discovered your gallery. I really love your Christmas works, and this one is my favorite. Acrylic is such a hard medium, but you've used it to great effect to give this piece so much elegance and character. It's sucha refreshing take from the usual mountain and snow scene.

Thanks Seok Yam Chew for all your comments on my Christmas stuff. I like the subject matter and think I will return to it, trying to keep it simple. Silent Night is in impasto and I did it with an old credit card. I must try to find a better way to sell cards, so far I have only really tried craft fairs, with mixed success. Best Wishes, AKS
