Lovely work Barbara a lovely delicate feel to this work.

Beautiful work Barbara, very clever indeed.

Thank you, Dennis. I really enjoy stitching plants as they are so forgiving!

Thank you, Margaret. Stitching plants doesn't require as much effort as animals!

Gorgeous...I always love your textile work!

Thank you very much Louise for always posting such lovely comments!

Well I just admire your great skill Barbara. I studied textile design many years ago and love looking at different fabrics. The way that you bring all your scraps of fabric, threads and netting etc together and create these is fascinating to see. I like the colours here and choice of background. You must have so many scraps of fabrics and other materials round to inspire you and I can imagine your excitement upon finding some new pieces that you can use. I wondered what size something like this is and are they framed up, perhaps behind glass?

This is absolutely great work, Barbara. Well done!

A stunning piece, beautifully composed and executed.

Hello Louise Thank you so much for writing and for your lovely comments. I am interested in your textile background- do you explore anything now with fabric or do you prefer to paint? Yes, I love rooting around in my colour-coded boxes for a scrap which might work for a particular feature. And, as you say, there's the excitement of finding something new too! The Fennel Seed Heads picture measures 25 x 36 cms. I stretch the original work over a piece of mountboard (lacing it across the back) then it is ready to be framed with mountboard and under glass. Thanks again for all your lovely comments. Kind regards, Barbara

Thank you, Mia!
