Barbara Shaw
Biography
I hand-stitch many small scraps of fabric together in layers to produce textile collage pictures. I have been Artist-in-Residence at two National Trust properties (Chastleton House, the Cotswolds and Claydon House, Buckinghamshire). In 2016 I had a piece of work in an exhibition in Parliament and some pictures were in an Arctic themed exhibition in the Oxford Museum of Natural History. In 2017 I had my first solo exhibition at Claydon Estate, Buckinghamshire and another one scheduled for June-August in a Hay-on-Wye Gallery. In 2018 I was filmed for an episode of 'Junk Rescue' which was aired on CBeebies in June 2019. I moved to Herefordshire in 2021 and now as well as creating new pictures I document my arty life via videos and social media posts.
