A lovely sketchbook painting John - it’s something I do a lot myself, so much better than a photo and quite often can be the source for a painting.

Thank you Chrissie, and as you say, much better than just a photo - as I look back through old sketchbooks I can remember where/how I painted most of them.

A short holiday on the edge of Morecambe Bay with one of our dogs provided lots of subjects and opportunities to paint - 15 sketchbook pics in 5 days. Here's one of them, an A5 watercolour sketch looking across the corner of the bay with the great expanse of sandbanks and gullies, silver-white limestone shoreline and wind-blown bushes.
