What a purrrrrfectly lovely picture.

What a purrrrrfectly lovely picture.

I love this, she certainly enjoyes her reference books ! She looks intelligent. Perhaps she should have a pair of specs on the end of her nose!

Gorgeous...have you written stories about her?

Love this jolly image. like the roses in the background you have managed to keep the focus on the cat but added humour and interest in the other areas too.

Hi Anni~ another little gem...The idea of an illustrated story book for young readers? Worth investigating perhaps? Fabulous Art Nouveau/Art Deco detailing in the foreground...

Sylvia, thank you for taking the time to look and comment, I appreciate it greatly :) ~ Anni Carole I think she is rather short-sighted, as she always has her nose IN the book :) Many thanks for looking :) ~ Anni Suzanne, Thanks for looking at this one. No, I haven't written any stories about her. Perhaps I should write a wee story with each cat I paint. I do like rambling on with my imagination. Warm regards ~ Anni :) Angela, Thanks for looking and your comments. Once an art teacher told me that I should always remember that the background is as important as the main subject itself. It often gets over looked or treated in a shabby way. I look on the backgrounds as opportunies to indulge myself. I love books and chintzy fabric and wallpapers. Many thanks ~ Anni :) Hi Phil, Thanks for taking the time to look and comment. Yes, a book would be lovely...The Little Person's Guide of Practical Cats maybe (if you forgive the pun???? I am a avid collector of books, most found for a dollar in secondhand charity shops. I see some of the older books as little works of art in their own right...and used some of them as props for this painting. I altered some though andmade up the titles so they would be relevant. Your right some bindings are art nouveau in style, well spotted. Best regards ~ Anni :)

Hi Anni...Absolutely delicious! You are a very talented lass. Am delighted to recognise my old copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales; the coverpiece and binding are almost indentical. It should of course, be Grimm's Fairy Tails!...there's one for you. I agree some old bookcovers are works of art in their own right. Beautiful. Always a delight to see your work. I think it is a splendid idea to create little books for children...and these would be a wonderful stimulus to their imaginations, so important. You could give the cats a variety of occupations beautifully. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Anni a beautiful painting and a beautiful cat too...love her choice of books

Hi Ruth, good to hear from you again, thanks for the compliment :) Yes my dear old Dad gave me a copy of Grimm's Fairytales, so yes...a special place in my heart. Like your pun too. Yes...it would be fun to give cat's occupations: doctors/nurses, ballet dancers, firemen, fortune teller, astronaut...there is such potential ! Thanks for looking in, best regards ~ Anni Hello Patsy, Yup this little lady is quite a geek I think...she needs to get out more :D Thank you ~ Anni

Hey....this is an exiting piece of work! Have you ever looked at Linda Jane Smiths work? I have (years ago) sold prints done by her, (I had a Gift & Picture framing Shop) they were, amongst others I believe, sold through <Washington Green Fine Art Publishing Company>, and extremely popular. Just thought I'd mention it, in case you fancied a carrier in Art. You are certainly, by the looks of your charming little painting here, as competent as afore mentioned person. Kind regards Hanne-Birgit PS: Write back if you want more info ;)

Enjoyed looking at this painting, lots to see and it made me smile.

Acrylic on stretched canvas Size: 12inch x 12 inch This is Bella, a librarian’s cat. She is very well-read. Bella likes nothing better than to find a quiet, warm spot and to curl up with one of her favourite books. She has an extensive library for such a young cat. Just look at her titles. ~ Anni Morris
