I was very proud to be asked to create this portrait of a Lance Sergeant from the First World War. He received the Victoria Cross and was given a hero's reception when he returned to Midsomer Norton. The Council intended to get a portrait painted of him, but he returned to the front and this never happened. I was asked to create a portrait which looked as if it could have been painted 100 years ago. Now in the permanent collection at Midsomer Norton Town Hall.
