Well if it feels good Ann it will do you good! I do like the texture at the bottom it would have looked good for the whole field. I like 'the light at the end of the tunnel' look in the middle, it signifies the end of your traumatic year I hope;) Also I like the way the two horses seem to be galloping off. A wonderful sky!

Thank you, Carole. Yes, you're right, a bit more texture elsewhere would have improved it. It hadn't occurred to me about the 'light at the end of the tunnel', but yes, it could be prophetic! I hope so, as life never prepares us for tragic events does it? Probably because such events are beyond our imagination until they happen. Anyway, painting is such therapy, a way of losing ourselves amongst beautiful colours.

Yes Ann great therapy as I've found too. This is looking good for your return to painting. My only comment would be to make sure the animals are connected to the ground and not as if floating.

Thanks, Derek.......yes, I've had problems with floaty creatures before! Maybe something to do with my lack of skill regarding perspective, a shortfall I've got, that I don't always know how to resolve. It'll come with practise hopefully.

A lovely painting Ann, your sky is wonderful. Well done for picking up your brush, hope this is the start of something good.

Even before reading your description I thought of donkey/horse sanctuary Ann, it has a very peaceful and calm atmosphere. A great start to build on.

Thankyou very much, Margaret and Fiona, for your kind encouragement. I'm hoping I can keep on going now I've made a start.

Nice calming feel to this . A scene of serenity, with a beautiful sky.

Thanks, Andre. I'm pleased you see serenity in this picture. I was quite pleased with the sky.

I agree with Carole - Ann those textures at the bottom combined with the loose washes of acrylic make it a very interesting painting

Thank you very much, Lynne.

Just an attempt to pick up a brush again after a traumatic year. It's a bit of a rubbish painting, shadows don't look right and they were supposed to be horses but look like donkeys! I'll try harder next time, but it felt good to be messing about with paint again. Acrylic on canvas paper.
