Excellent sky certainly not messy or overworked, and my favorite mountains! Maybe the tree on the right doesn't need to be there or is a bit dark in the corner if I was being really critical, but don't listen to me cause I've never painted in watercolour.

Beautiful work Ann. --- Amazing sky--- Canisp and Suilven very rendered --- Good coulours in the water---- The tree in right hand corner I do not find hard hard on the eye

FABULOUS sky, Mrs.Cook!!!! Love it!!

I don't think the sky is messy at all. If you look at a sky it isn't that well organised in real life - complicated cloud shapes, variety of colours, etc so painting it in all it's glory could never look messy. Super painting which conveys everything about this scene.

I agree 100% with the above comments: absolutely not overworked but stunning. Sorry Ann, if I do not comment on all your postings. Being away for 2 weeks (see my Blog "Surprise-party" or "Mia"), I missed about 60 pages of postings. I am browsing backwards, but it will be a full-time-job!

Thanks again, everyone! I just can't help trying to fill in what I see as empty spaces - hence the tree, Kevin!

I am quite happy with the tree on the right - it helps link the foreground with the distant shore and breaks it up - also it provides a stop and directs the eye into the picture. Without it it would not be such compositionaly complete picture. Lovely study

Another good watercolour Ann, I like the sky, I think I fall into the no or smaller tree faction of commentators! It just shows there are no real rights or wrongs, just opinions! I just thought, if there was no tree, you could develope the reflections more! Thanks also for your kind comments on my last posting. I really enjoyed painting that quickly at the art club on Thursday.
