Anna, I love your ferret, he looks just like one I use to have called 'Dyson'. I named him that because he would hoover anything up!! I had seven altogether, but alas, we all grow old even ferrets. Quite a few of mine lived good long lives, two were ten years old and a couple were nine. It still isn't long enough though. You've captured the cheeky character perfectly even down to the way they stand. I like rats too but never had any.

I've met the occasional ferret - always most impressed; but have never had the room to keep them; and suspect they'd run rings round me now I'm somewhat (but only somewhat!) stricken in years... Like your specimen here, they all had very obvious character, and almost disturbing degrees of intelligence. Don't think you rats would get on with them, somehow.... other than as lunch. (Where's Whiskers???" [Burp...] "No idea..").

Thank you both for your kind comments :) Fiona, I love the name Dyson! I never knew ferrets lived that long - unfortunately rats get no where near that age. Robert, no, I don't think I could have one with my rats! As much as I would like one I couldn't possibly live without rats so I don't think a ferret will be happening anytime soon here!
