I like this, and I love the contrasting tones, folds of fabric and the reflected light on the boy's face.

I agree with Carole and I can see very well that you have achieved what you set out to do. The light is beautiful in this painting.

The Secret Book is an example of oil painting using the Old Master Technique. It is a charming study of a boy sitting on a cushion watching the book in which he wishes to discover the secret of life. The boy is sitting in a dark room in the early morning; he is wearing a light nigh-shirt. The artist wanted to show the contrast of colour with dark curtain and white nigh-shirt and the light coming through the window. The artist created a tranquil atmosphere of the early morning day so vivid that one can almost see the vive interest of the boy reading the secret book.
