I decided to start painting in Abstract today and chose a limited pallet red, yellow and blue ,, smeared gesso over the surface and let it dry in the sun. It had a ripple effect when dried out so used a palette knife (first time ever) Anyway after three sessions and intervals inbetween drying out I noticed an impression of what looked like a fish. I felt in harmony with the colours then noticed an impression of a fish when it dried out. The gesso certainly works well to lay out a textured surface...
