'Winter'

Comments

Well done.

I like your trees very much Angela, they look like a print.

Why thankyou Chris and Fiona for your comments on these trees for winter! I was dabbling yesterday and thought about trees in winter so created a bleak scene on card paper, I used a filbert brush and maybe brushing away the dark pigment kind of lifted the bark out in places, anyway it was fascinating painting this scene. Might try some other landscape studies in watercolour again!

When the trees shed their leaves it's a solemn time in the forest! Painted trees today and returned to Watercolour with Filbert brush...actually this was a learning experience as started on reduction of dark pigment and it amazed me at just how the pigment lifted with an upward stroke, it was like drifting instead of dredging! I find trees fascinating to draw from imagination but even better still from out in the open air!
