I started painting an old colonial cottage one day as we had been out for a drive and these late 1800's cottages that were built by early settlers in Victoria look so profound. The Rook was positioned on the roof to add a sense of wonder and awe so I altered the concept and theme, it became an illustration for the historical essays I was writing for The Rooks at Wythop Mill".
