'Little Emu Chick awakening'
Started a series of pencil drawings for a pictorial book to gift to our youngest grandaughter. These chicks are likened to hens with striped down feathers, then their growth rate is rapid and they feed on insects and snails. Predators of Dingos and Wedgetail Eagles are likely to invade unless they are hidden in a crevice where their parents can protect. The Male Emu guards the eggs and this Chick happened to survive, despite the ravening Wedgetail Eagles swoop!
