I love the colour and movement you have already, nicely done 👍

Thank you Stephen for that feedback; really helpful; God bless 🙂❤️🙏🏻🕊

My own thoughts were that this is just very early stage in the painting, but it does work as an abstract, so I might have a go at rivers in abstract if I get much response here? 🙂❤️🙏🏻🕊

I like it but should you say what it is? It sort of negates the abstract idea, if you see what I mean. Or is that just me?

I think I agree with your wife. The flow of the water and the very natural composition draws the viewer in and in this instance I think less is more Andrew. God bless🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

Thank you Heather; God bless 🙂❤️🙏🏻🕊

Thank you Marjorie for that feedback; really helpful; you may well be right; Love and God bless 🙂❤️🙏🏻🕊

Thank you Stephen for that great feedback; ; Love and God bless 🙂🙏🏻🕊

Thank you Carole for that really helpful and focused feedback; real food for thought; Love and God bless 🙂❤️🙏🏻🕊xx

Thank you Coral! Love and God bless x

The starkness of the black and white draw the eyes in. But to me it lacks soul. Your paintings usually have so much life and movement in them when you add the colours. But the concept of this painting reminds me so much of Red Falls. Well do e Andy🤗❤️xxx

Thank you, dear Jacqueline, for that constructive feedback; really helpful; you may well be right; Much love and God bless 🙂❤️🙏🏻🕊xx

This is the very early stages of a painting based on recent photos of the River Calder. My wife wants me to stop there leaving it semi-abstract. What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts, not least those who know my normal style? Love and God bless 🙂❤️🙏🏻🕊

About the Artist

I’ve always loved water, its movement, its colour, its power. I had the privilege of working as a hydrologist for nine years before ordination, necessarily but enjoyably observing the movement of water in full flow or even in floods. That was thirty years ago but my love for moving water has not…
