Very striking Andrew

Like this a lot Andrew , the ruins look really good against the skyline.

Very stylish and beautifully painted with purposeful brushstrokes.

It is an impressive ruin Andrew, and you have portrayed it very well. I particularly like your greens, and the clouds.

Thank you Heather, Paul, Spencer and Karen for the kind comments. The greens are all a mix of Paynes Grey and Cadmium yellow as I wanted to rein in the range of colours I was using. It was painted over a ground of burnt sienna.

Excellent painting Andrew.

You've done the subject proud, Andrew. Its the kind of painting that would encourage a person to visit the place. Dramatic and intriguing.

Thank you Stephen, glad you like it. And thank you Carol, that’s one of the nicest comments anyone has ever left on one of my pictures.

This painting has great impact Andrew, I like it very much.

Thank you Diane, very kind.

Spectacular Andrew! What a fabulous subject and painting.

Thank you Fiona, that's very kind.

In addition to the limited palette Andrew, I like the tension created between the diagonals of the sky and the diagonals of the ruin and the hillside.

Thank you John and Cheryl for the encouraging comments

I like this. It has power. And danger - menacing

Carreg Cennen - a striking ruin in Carmarthenshire. Well worth a visit as it has fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Acrylic , 40 x 30 cm on Winsor canvas board.
