Dog in pencil

Lovely dog; these do "soulful" particularly well. Agree with you about graphite pencils, but try the Mars Lumograph range, especially the 8B, which is unlike any other: waxy rather than crumbly and less liable to smudge; and the Derwent sketching pencils, the F being particularly rewarding.
