What a lovely dog and such an intelligent expression on his face. Great portrait.

Thank you Thea. I learnt during the painting of this, that the reference photograph supplied (which was really excellent quality, and I would normally print to work from) was even better viewed on an ipad. I could really get the detail I needed for his eyes by enlarging the image on the screen. Shame it took me a couple of days to twig! I agree, a lovely dog, I wanted to do him justice as it was commissioned by a friend for her husband's birthday surprise gift. :)
