Poor little thing - it looks like the birds in our garden that look very ruffled up against the bitter cold of the wind and snow. Great painting.

Thank you Carole & Thea for visiting and leaving your lovely comments. I owe this bird a pack of mealworms for posing for me! This painting sold on the preview night of the New Forest Open Art exhibition, and I was commissioned to design and paint a second version for another visitor later in the show....so I probably actually owe him/her two packs of mealworms!

A mixed media painting using acrylic inks, paints and textiles. The painting was based on my own photograph of a robin which flew into shot while I was taking reference pictures of foliage and seedheads for another project. Painting on acrylic paper with detail added with dip pen and ink.
