Walking along the river Stour I managed to take a photograph of this scene on a late afternoon last June. At home I first made a sketch and than painted the picture. A sketch always helps to decide on the composition, what to leave out or move into a picture and make sure all the shadows come the same way. Plus, I love sketching. It was the first time I have tried to depict a scene like that.
