Thank you Jim...my mate wanted one in a more traditional style, not sure if I succeeded but he liked it a lot. He's an ex marine with a commanding presence, which I tried to portray.

Is it the sky colour which makes this stand out? It could be a portrait of Lenin or somesuch ( not suggesting your pal looks like him). No, looking again, it's the "looking up" at him. Whatever, it's pretty good Andre.

How are you going to add his dog Andre? Will it look a little disjointed.......it might spoil the effect you’ve created of his persona. No offence meant.

Thanks for your comment Fiona,...as for adding the dog , I've already painted the sitting dog as a study, which will be placed on the hump next to his right hand,, I cut it out place it where I think it will work then repeat the study by painting it over the existing area, which will not be difficult.
