I am not familiar with Frankenthaler but I do like this painting . so very well painted Andre your talented

Great ode Andre you are a painter of distinction

I am not familiar with him either, but this is really good and an unusual composition.

Thanks for your comments,Dennis, Dennis and Janet. Just to let you know , it's Helen Frankenthaler, an abstract artist, and this refers to a abstract ode, in the English sense, to praise. I look at her work as 'not what's on the canvas as what's behind it'

Never heard of him but I love the textures in this Andre.

Andre a change in direction, excellent work your concern, as the artist felt was is it beautiful ?the answer is yes great colour combinations well constructed well done David

I keep coming back to look at this. I Googled Frankenthaler and from there Kenneth Noland, very interesting. This , for me, makes me think of a harbour wall for some reason. I really like the blue and orange together. Intriguing!

After yesterday's foray into abstracts Andre, it's made me 'see' through different eyes and it isn't a case of painting what you see, or even painting what you think you see. It's born of experience, imagination and that something extra that we all probably have inside somewhere. A great tribute to this style of art.

So many unknowns of course but I love seeking their work as tipped in here and WC. I didn't like the circle at first but then studying the whole work makes it fit. Smashing job Andre, will now look him up.

Thanks everyone for such great feedback, hopefully a few will have checked out Helen Frankenthaler and her abstract style, not everyone's cup of tea,but worth a look. Again thanks.

Apart from the abstract wuality of the wall (?) i like the contrast with the oronge wheel/circle

I'm not one for abstracts, Andre, but this one really stood out in the gallery. Superb design, textures and palette. Excellent work!

Loved her work when I sourced it. Given me ideas for tomorrow.
