Orange and blue

I've only done one self portrait and I looked beyond peaky, due to the palette of ultramarine and cadmium red I had to hand in my water-based oils class. Out of interest, did you choose complementary colours for a specific reason, Amanda?

It was an attempt to get the most variety out of a the fewest colours, Caroline. An experiment; I'm trying to get to grips with watercolour better.

Thank you, Ros. It worked better than (red + green) and (yellow + purple) ... which both ended up as (red + green + yellow + purple).
