Amanda, this is interesting, thank you for posting. It's fascinating seeing the development of the portrait and must have been quite exciting to see the image emerging when you added the water.

Thank you , Caroline. I do love the way that the colours come to life when you wet these things. (It's a litte bit like those magic colouring books that you can still get for children!)

It must be about time I posted another self portrait... this time, I returned to the set of 6 Caran D'Ache Museum Aquarelle pencils that were supplied as a competition kit last year. ~~~ As with other soluble pencils, it seems that a second layer is frequenty useful. ~~~~ Left to right: dry; first wetting; second layer added and wetted ~~~~~
