Fantastic colours and brushstrokes - knew it was one of yours !

Why, thank you, Beverley. [Am I getting a reputation?]

I Beverley has said it. I also think the composition works very well. Palette very effective.

Agree with all of above, this works so well, and you have the rocks really well and just enough detail of the gap in the rock and what is beyond

One of the dreaded box canvases! Painted plain Payne's Grey around the edges, it's 30cm square. The image is an open-ended cave in the cliffs that I painted on Thursday; our family all trooped through it and then looped back around the end of the cliffs. The fellow you can see here was not so lucky as us. He got caught out by the waves; there he was, standing on rock, keeping his feet dry and waiting for the tide to recede when I started waving my camera around. I thought he looked rather picturesque - romantic, almost (in a Walter Scott sort of way, rather than a Barbara Cartland sort of way).
