All right then, we won't mention the small can of red spray paint.... Lively scene; is this your usual blue (pthalo)? It looks rather fresher than the usual pthalo blue.

Robert already knows this, 'cos I mentioned it in the in-progress quartet; the main blue is coeruleum (hue). There's some ultramarine in there too (not the best blue for seas, despite its name; I mostly used it for shadow and in mixes).

I liked the big sky and the clean lines of the modern ship. When I took the photograph, I was thinking of a very linear composition; this isn't that painting. Instead, it is a play on colour and texture; I used brushes, colour shapers, knives and fingers to apply the paint, not to mention a small can of red spray paint. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 40 x 50 cm, acrylic on canvas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://amanda-bates-artist.blogspot.com/2014/08/in-poole-harbour.html
