Track Back to Hackpen - Ochre & Umber - Robert's Challenge

This works well mainly because of the titanium white which I feel as it adds a light note to the more sombre and earthy colours.

Thank you, Thea. The titanium white certainly makes a difference - I actually think it "blues" the colours slightly, or cools them. I've tried it in watercolour after reading your comment ... https://www.painters-online.co.uk/Gallery/Amanda-Bates-Track-Back-to-Hackpen---Double-watercolour---Roberts-Challenge/_ga96653_pg1

Lovely colour combination which keeps the landscape looking natural with no jarring greens etc. I'm waffling here and most probs not making too much sence but I like this very much.

I agree with Sarah - the colours do have a natural and calm feel, plus the white/burnt umber give a really good tonal range
