Why, thank you, Michael! I suspect that "painting" is a generous description. And there wasn't really time for overworking...

Drawing or pastel? It's a quick sketch, so I think it must be a drawing made with pastel. Or Conte crayons, as they are known. Art time having been curtailed by my return to full time work, I have taken to making the occasional lunchtime sketch, with a bike ride to reach the chosen destination. This is the most recent (drat the wet weather), and, I think, one of the more pleasing ones. I didn't notice the cattle until one of them moved. They were camouflaged by the shadows under the trees - but having seen them, I needed to include them. Conte (matchbox set) on Daler Rowney Murano pastel paper
