Orange Julie (1998 - Fauvism/Portrait Workshop) by Amanda Bates
This is an old work - from 1998 - showing a style influenced by the Fauves. I'm considering using a similar style (with more realistic colours) for a school mural project I've been asked to lead. The kids will get to do most of the colour; I'll make sure the outlines work. ~~ We won't be painting Julie. The idea is to represent the local community, history and landscape*. ~~ Julie is painted in acrylic on stretched A1 paper. ~~ *This WILL include Watership Down. I'm thinking of including rabbits in each and every scene... except for the pre-Roman ones, of course.
