I love this idea. Its really fun. Would love to see a spin on it though and done as a really big piece.

Iconic figures - I still have a houseful of them courtesy of my grandsons. Great painting and great idea for a painting.

Claire - after 7x7, 40x40 did seem "really big"! - but yes, I get what you mean.

Agreed, this is super work Amanda, particularly after reading your intro to it, I must have a look on that website, everyone has loved Lego as some point in their lives, must even be people still discovering it today through their own children especially with Legoland theme park, it's great that you have turned your experiences with them into paintings, they are after all such vibrant little characters that can depict just about everything in life especially these days, so why not paint them!

I have a long-running series of very small (7x7cm) paintings of LEGO minifigures (you'll find them on my blog, here: http://amanda-bates-artist.blogspot.co.uk/p/lego-minifigures-gallery.html ), done largely as fun things to appeal to, ahem, the young at heart. And my children. ~~ This is a bigger painting. ~~ I used a one inch flat brush and a knife - right up to the point of painting the smiles, which ended up being done with a number 6 round brush. ~~ Acrylic on canvas, 40 x 40 cm
