"Where there's a mine or a hole in the ground/ That's what I'm heading for that's where I'm bound" - Show of Hands, "Cousin Jack". My Cornish boy had already moved upcountry when I found him, but he eschewed the hole.

Yes, really. It's called Ding Dong mine. It's on the moors at Penwith in Cornnwall, not far from Men-an-Tol. The painting is a sort of companion piece to the Old John painting last posted - it's acrylic on canvas, 30 x 40 cm
