Alison asked me what circulism was and the only explanation I have is a fairly clumsy one. I wondered if this drawing of George's mouth would pull out the detail I can get from circulism any better. I did the drawing as a practice for drawing teeth and gums, but there is skin around, and this is where circulism happens. So, using circles, some joined, some individual, smaller ones as well as looser larger circles is how I do skin when using the technique of circulism. It IS time consuming, and you need many layers to achieve the look of skin, but I do very much enjoy the effect of it.
