Wheelbarrow Lane
I stumbled across this lane in Helston, Cornwall, and I tried to capture it's sense of historyand attmosphere in this fine line pen and marker pen drawing. The lane took servants from where the old market used to be, to the servants' entrances in the large town houses. The strange wedge-shaped ramps down one side were probably to help the wheelbarrows laden with local farm produce down the steep incline, hence the name, Wheelbarrow Lane!
