Recognized this scene immediately, very familiar territory! You have captured the atmosphere really well, reflected light from the church floodlights and deep shadows excellent.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Margaret - I mostly use oils and did for this painting. Occasionally i’ll start in acrylic but mostly for still life

Hang on Studio Wall

Started from plein air sketch the painting was completed from reference photos in studio. Oil on canvas 12x10 in. The glow from the lights took many glazes to arrive at the desired atmospheric effect. I’m planning to do a few more nocturnes as I love the strong dark to light contrast
