Traditional it may be but a super example of the genre - well painted Alan

Oh Alan, this is just stunning! Beautiful view, perfectly painted sunny and shadow parts, I am jealous. Allow me just a little observation: I think that the figures are a little bit too large according to the houses, they are not able to enter the doors. Otherwise everything is perfect in my opinion.

Some cruel perspective here, to challenge anyone! But you've triumphed over it, by not presenting a hard, sharp architectural impression a la estate agent's draughtsman (some of whom are very skilled, which is why the buggers get planning permission when they shouldn't ...).

Great watercolour Alan, beautifully painted

Nice strong contrasts and the shadow at the front has great impact, Alan.

I agree with Mia, a stunning watercolour, I always admired the glowing colours your watercolours had at the Ilkley exhibitions and this has the same quality.

Lovely watercolour - sharp colours and plenty of interest.

Many thanks everyone for your generous comments which are very much appreciated. Mia - you are correct regarding the figures, I will remember next time (or I will make the doors bigger)! Happy painting. Alan Goodall
