Ravenglass sky by Alan Goodall

Love the brooding sky, which as you say, 'shows off' the houses so well, dark against the light roofs in the foreground and light against the darker roofs in the distance. I don't think I would have picked up on that without your description, I just would have thought it well painted. The (as always) well drawn boat adds interest to the foreground. Just noticed, even the gulls are counterchanged! One of your best.

More than an exercise - more a masterclass ..........

Totally agree with Stephen and Michael, defiantly one of your best, love your technique and style.

An excellent and very atmospheric piece.

Great stormy sky and I like that yellow tinged light that you get when bad weather is imminent. Lovely work.

Totally fantastic!

Very effective and atmospheric too.

Thanks everyone for your positive comments, I do enjoy atmospheric skies and watercolour is the perfect medium Happy painting Alan
