King of the River #1 by Andrew Holmes
The first of a study of the Kingfisher, this shot captures the bird perched having just caught its lunch. Inspired by a great photograph by photographer Connor McLaren, I created this drawing to capture the beauty of the kingfisher whilst challenging my drawing abilities with the detail it offered, and capturing a bird known for its colour in greyscale.
