A real little darling. What a lovely portrait Adebanji.

Lovely portrait, great on black background. Shows the jewel colours up beautifully. Love the glowing little face.

the golden hair, the rosy cheeks and the look of the kid - wow! super especially as you've used black ground.

I remember the preliminary drawing you did for this painting which I thought was stunning in its own right but this portrait is simply beautiful. Am I right in thinking you did one of his sister as well? If so I look forward to seeing it.

Thanks Beatrice, Carole and Sunil! Val-you have got a good memory, you are right, I did one of his sister, Gracie, too!

I like the directness of his gaze and the compostion with him pointing towards the viewer is unusual. The hands pointing towards us and each other lead us round the picture , so very tricky to achieve. The choice of a dark background for a child is also different, it gives the portrait gravitas, without him looking older than his years. A master at work IMHO. Well done Adebanji

Thanks Angela-It is always interesting to see different people analyse yhe same painting- I'll have to look at it with your eyes!

All right, admit it: there's nothing you can't do in paint, is there? Completely brilliant.

Rob, I'm not sure about that but thanks anyway!

I saw these two on your blog. Love this one; you've captured his cheeky personality perfectly. His sister looks as if she doesn't want to be there though.

Thanks Diana, you got that spot on!
