Good subject, characterful (if this is a word) face. Very Michelangelo ! Like the colours.

Well done A. You have captured the soul of the individual, there is great appeal in well-bearded faces...Nice to see another painting by you too.

Thanks Carole and Phil!

Looks like quite a character. Went to an exhibition of drawings by Leonardo Da Vinci this morning, amazing, and this looks like the sort of guy he would have drawn.( But not quite as well as you though!!...) Just posted a sketch I did this afternoon if you have time to look I would like your comment. Don't be nice, be honest! Thanks.

You scare me when you compare me with Leornardo!!!!!!!!! I have wriiten a comment on your sketch. I am happy you are SKETCHING- enjoy the experience! Where did you see his drawings?

Thank you so much for looking and commenting on my sketch. I can now see clearly what you mean about the right eye, strange how I never noticed it before. I shall certainly carry on sketching now I've started and hopefully improve. There are 10 drawings by Leonardo at an exhibition to celebrate the 60th birthday of Prince Charles at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Stirling, Central Scotland, It's on 'til 2 november. It is the only venue in Scotland where they are being shown, quite a coup for Stirling, the insurance must be astranomical!

WOW, what an Opportunity!

i agree with the others comments on the style you have used, you seem to make it look as though you find it easy to draw your subjects or objects, i find it very demanding to achieve what i do and it doesn,t come close to yours, very good....chris

Thats the wayy it is for me but remember- I have put in 3-4 years of sketching faces almost everyday on public transport just to train my hand and eye co-ordination which is vital in drawing. So my advice would be SKETCH, DRAW, SKETCH, DRAW, SKETCH as much as you can, whenever you can! I promise you that the results will show in your drawing!

sound advice..chris

Got to see this guy recently working near a site around my house, I was instantly touched! I gained the confidence to ask if I could paint him or draw him and bravo.....he agreed. Well, he didn't have much time for sittings so I took a shot and this was it! He reminded me of people in the ancient times
