i bet they were very pleased...great portrait

Yes, but only after working with them for a long while. I was able to get Toby straight on, but Madeline took a while, but in the end they loved it ! Their whole family came and were pleased!

Is there no end to your talents. Hard getting all that greenery to work. Love the treatment of the shadows complimenting the greens. Very well done. PS many thanks for the comment on the Degas much appreciated.

Great work - just finished a portrait and can understand the problems you must have had. People don't always "see" what is there and often that is what we paint - had to tweek mine quite a few times but they are now happy - still great pleasure in getting it right!

Thanks Carole, thats one of the ups and downs of portraiture- many artists have stopped because of the constant twitching and tweeking and many just paint faces without it being commission based.
