Love the colour - smashing pose. What is the media? I love the looseness of it.

What a good painting. I love the pose and the expression too.

Thanks Jeannette, this is oil, Thanks Margaret!

Great painting.

yeah i agree....great expression and pose...really like it

Really like this painting, it has just reminded me to develop some drawings i did recently on my way into work....nice use of colour, love the shapes around the figure as well

I seem to have missed most of these. Excellent as usual and many congratulations on your ROI win. How do you manage to do these without the people involved knowing you are sketching them? I've been doing similar recently and always feel that people know when I'm looking at them. Do you ask their permission?

Thanks Diane! You have just got to get on with the business of sketching, during my 5 years of sketching on public transport, I have learned that if you are calm and relaxed while sketching people won't have problems, but if you are a bit anxious or worried people are looking or noticing what you are doing, that creates tension and they may mis-interprete what you do. I have had many great experiences of explaining to people why I do what I do and this has helped them to understand why artist's sketch. I don't ask permission but if someone asks me to stop sketching them I certainly will comply immediately. Now in 5 years that has only happened about 3 or 4 times. So, enjoy your sketching and get on with the excitement of bringing faces and people to life on the pages of your sketchbook! I only ask permission if I see a great model and I know that I am going to use them for a developed piece, they always get a copy too in the end! Hope this helps.
