Prefer this in some ways to your later self=portrait (a great discipline, by the way) because I can more readily find the division between upper and lower lip. Makes you look that much more determined. Hellishly difficult angle, incidentally.

i prefer the angle on this one, i'll try another from the same angle soon, this was my first portrait so its full of things i'd improve next time. the whites of the eyes are too white, the ears not pink enough, and most of the darker parts were done just by painting a watery grey over it, which makes it look a bit dull . as with the rest of my portraits i spent that long getting a likeness that i rushed finishing them so i could move onto a new painting.
