What a gloriously dramatic painting...superb darks used to enhance the mood...and subtle use of a palette knife on the reeds to the left (?) Beautiful.

Wow so atmospheric! Have visited the loch but not when the light has gone. Wonderful painting.

The colours are stunning in this painting creating a wonderful atmosphere. A very powerful image.

Love the colours you have used in this and that light is amazing. A beautiful atmospheric painting. Thank you for your lovely comments on that minx of a cat I painted, much appreciated.

Thought provoking, too, because you show what can be done by a skillful hand from a photograph - even more surprising that you've never visited the area. It's the light on the mountains I find most impressive; and I'd have sworn you had to have been there to have painted it. Loch Lochy, by the way, is a great name - I'd never heard of it before today.

Thankyou everyone for your lovely comment, yes Ruth the reeds and mountains are done with a pallette knife , I have been to scotland many times and love the atmospheric veiws up there.

Loch Lochy was painted from a photo for reference from John Cameron with his kind permission, I went to Scotland a few years ago but never visited Loch Lochy, I was inspired by this image to paint it , I changed it a little so both images were unique in their right.
