This is a largely experimental piece. I have layered soft pastel ( yes you can!) over an acrylic painting. using a very light touch, just allowing the pastel to create a mark under its own weight, to create texture and dynamic rhythm in this semi abstract, imaginary landscape. If this sounds technical and over-the top arty, well, at least I can say it was fun and well worth the mucky fingers.
