Thank you for your kind colours. I've classified this as impressionistic, but I guess it's not. I just wanted to have beautiful blocks of colour that conveyed the beauty and peace of the gardens. I would like in future to reference birds but where present in other paintings they just, for scale, appear as dots or lines. As we slip gently into Autumn there will be skies of migrating birds. I love this site in that you can look at other practising artists and see how they approach nature.

I visited Ashridge House Sculpture Garden with a friend a few weeks ago. Beautiful grounds, some amazing sculptures and a nice cafe, only slightly marred by pesty wasps in the courtyard cafe area, but I guess they like American pancakes with maple syrup too.
