To me this is a portrait of a good man thinking dark thoughts. He reminds me of maybe a shakespearean character and there is great drama in the picture as a whole. He looks like a man who has found resolve and there is quiet determination there too. This portrait tells a story and there might be a hundred stories which it might be.
