Highlighting a single item in one colour has become very popular since Schindler's List, though it doesn't always work well.  Here, I think its works brilliantly  - the muted door and the not too strong stonework are very much in harmony.

Thank you all very much. Encouraging comments. Much appreciated. Thank you. I'm aiming to experiment with a mini-series, using interesting doorways around the city, so hopefully I'll be sharing more. And it's getting really enjoyable having discovered pens in two greys and not just black. Thanks folks.

Another one good enough to share. Used a great deal of the light grey, so there's not as many darks in this one....but I think it still works quite well.
