It's looking good - very good, in fact.  Having some hours away from it might do you good, though - I've often reached a stage in a painting when I've wondered if I should or need or even could do any more with it; have been called away, come back to it, and the answer stares me in the face.

Thank you for you comments, I hope to get painting a bit later and before the afternoon street function or do I mean instead of the afternoon mmm . Sylvia could be right I hate the false politeness at theses function , I can just see it , Hello Fred hope your well, translated into , Hello You old fart , wish you would shove you dog where the sun doesn’t shine etc. Be fun to say what is actually going through your mind . Bloody hell woman will you please please go put some more clothes on , your 90 and the mini skirt is scaring  the animals and kids , oh sorry your 45 oops .  Your observation is very true Robert I have notice that time away from a painting is really worth it as often on return it looks different and the odd mistake doesn’t seem to cover the paper . What I was saying is when I get to this stage I look and think Iis this going to work , I have very occasional abandoned a painting at this stage , the ugly stag as I call it.

Yes time away from a painting does help..... now if you to D me where to put my dog you would get the WetNelly treatment.... probably only one person on here who will know what I'm talking about though she is possibly too young...though she will know a Kirkby Kiss ...

Well  I’ve done a bit more but I think I rushed it today should have waited till tomorrow when I have a free day. Still some work todo on it hopefully I can pull it back a bit , if not back to the painting board and start again. I do get cross with myself, just get the urge to Finnish it off and rush in .

Thank you Lew , I have to be honest and say I’m not sure of the background I need leave to it for a while and look again tomorrow.  Still need to look at foreground, not sure what to put in yet.

It’s looking good, the background’s subtle enough to set the elephant off and the colours work well together.

Thanks Gillian hopefully it will,be finished today. You know what it’s like we all often doubt our work and notice the faults sooner than the decent bits.
