Cheers Dixie 😁
The various stages and variations of rust are looking superb Anthony.
Thought I’d take advantage of being fired up and paint some more rust tonight. It’s nice to paint something fairly loose after the precision of the Mustang painting I just completed.
Looking forward to seeing this develop Anth , the rusty bit look good already.
Just as well I love painting rust! Sticking pretty well to the ‘paint every day’ rule, it’s really helping.
Looks like a lot of hard work to me, but you know it will be wonderful when it is finished.  Your eye for detail is amazing!
Cheers Linda! I think that’s what I love about paintings like these, you’ve really got to ‘see’ the detail, even in the background. There’s so much going on!
Small amount of progress on this one, now that the festivities are out of the way: I came up with a genius idea the other day…I’ve moved my turntable and records into the art room. Now, if I want to listen to some music, I’ve got this staring at me…and I can’t not pick a paintbrush up, can I? 😁
Got most of the grille in, needs the front face (verticals) lightening a bit to give some contrast/depth but fiddly bits are done:
Coming together beautifully Anth , the rust on the grill and bodywork is so realistic looks very much like the cars I worked on in my dads garage back in the 1960s . Some real rust buckets produced then , lol of the Vauxhalls were prone to rust within a few years of being manufactured, friend of mine had a  101 three years on and it had more rust than paintwork.
Absolutely Paul, cars in the 60s and 70s were starting to dissolve before they made it out of the showroom 😂 still love painting rust for some strange reason, not so big a fan of it on my car though!
Other than the front wheel, the ‘55’s done: Going to try and keep the momentum going and get the detritus in front of the car finished this week.
