About 25 years ago, my sister dressed up as Al Capone for a fancy dress party. She asked to borrow my Violin, so she could use the case as it was a known fact that gangsters of Capone's time, used them, for carrying firearms. That was the last I saw of the old Violin, that was at least until, my mum phoned, last week and said, your sister has returned your Violin. Knock me down with a feather. Anyway, I didn't really plan on painting a Violin but I had a small canvas already prepared, I normally have a couple prepared and gessoed for oil sketching. I took the Violin out to my little studio in the garden. When I opened it, I had forgotten how bright the interior of the case was. I started with a quick freehand drawing yesterday. I couldn't fit the pegs or scroll and as it's a sketch, I wasn't concerned. I am kind of trying it out to see if I fancy painting it in a much larger and more interesting composition. Even though it's just a sketch, the paint was too wet for me to continue today with detailing and refining.

Thanks for your comments. I'm keeping my paintings small at the moment as I'm having major works done in the garden and finding difficult to concentrate on starting on anything large at the moment. Even though the patio is down, there are two bases needed for a shed and green house and all the grass needs replacing and two tree stumps need removing. Sylvia, I've had arthritis in my neck for many years but I managed a couple of bars for my granddaughter. I will give it to her once I've finished with it. I still have a Clarinet and Keyboard. My parents where not musical, we were from a working class background with not much opportunity but at school, my older sibling and me where picked up as having some musical ability. My sister played a Cello. My brother played brass and a host of other instruments. We where never allowed to practice at home as we lived in a terraced house and my dad didn't want to upset the neighbours. He would say, don't be playing that racket. It makes me laugh now thinking of it. I don't think anyone in the street had seen a musical instrument up close back then.

Wow, it is so beautiful. I really appreciate your work. I'm about to turn in an essay assignment, and I've already located the website https://studyclerk.com/write-my-college-paper where I'll double-check my work before sending it to my mentor. I will hunt out a solution for you on Google once I have finished my homework.
